Joan cocks her head and cranes her neck to look the long way up to him. "I've heard official government briefings that gave more information," she says, mild and clearly unoffended. She understands secrets and the need for them, but it's unusual for someone to be so blatantly vague. Not for the first time, Joan wonders if he doesn't work for one of the agencies.
